Online Therapy

Online therapy is a relatively new innovation that takes advantage of the growth of the online community and the convenience of online services. While not constructed to take the place of traditional therapy, online therapy may be a convenient, effective and secure way to begin addressing some of your specific concerns.

The telemedicine platform that we use, Zoom, takes privacy and security very seriously. We implement state of the art security and encryption protocols to assure that data integrity and privacy is maintained. As a result, Zoom complies with HIPAA and HITECH requirements.

What You’ll Need

1. A location that is quiet, interruption free and with good lighting.
2. A computer equipped with a web camera and microphone.
3. Fast Internet capability.
4. A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to your session.

Setting Up A Session

1. Meet with the therapist at least once in-person.
2. Schedule an appointment with the therapist in advance.

Starting a Session

At the designated appointment time, have your computer connected to the Internet and log into your Zoom link. You will check in with your name on the website and wait at the virtual waiting room online. The therapist will initiate a video call to start the session. When you accept the request, the session will begin.
